Grewia biloba seeds

Shrub or small tree, 1-4 meters high, many branches; young branches covered with coarse hairs. The leaves are thin and leathery, oval or obovate-elliptic, 4-9 cm long, 2.5-4 cm wide, with a sharp apex, a wedge-shaped or blunt base, sparse star-like coarse hairs on both sides, and 3 veins at the base, on both sides. The veins go up more than half, and the midrib has 3-5 pairs of lateral veins, with finely serrated edges; the petiole is 4-8 mm long, covered with coarse hairs; the stipules are subulate, 3-4 mm long. Cymes are axillary, many-flowered, the inflorescence stalk is less than 1 cm long; the flower stalk is 3-6 mm long; the bracts are subulate, 3-5 mm long; the sepals are narrowly oblong, 4-7 mm long, and the outside is hairy. The inner surface is hairless; the petals are 1-1.5 mm long; the male and female stalks are 0.5 mm long and hairy; the stamens are 2 mm long; the ovary is hairy, the style is flush with the sepals, the stigma is enlarged, disc-shaped, and lobed. The drupe is red and has 2-4 divided stones. The flowering period is from May to July.
